The stitch seeks to re-envisage dormant spaces and disjointed infrastructures at the threshold of Silvertown. Despite an urban future defined by its proximity to a major transport intersection – DLR, London City Airport and Crossrail – development at three vertical datums continues to neglect the streetlife of Silvertown. A series of insertions within existing structures begins to dissolve the defined boundary between airport and community; bridging, cutting, propping and excavating; introducing unexpected moments within a new social facility.
