This work explores what constitutes a permanent architecture. What makes a building last longer? Is it purely a matter of physical wealth, or can a building's longevity be influenced by other counterparts? This project explores how a protected, preserved view of the country landscape being part of a space means the space itself becomes protected, preserved, and thus more permanent.

Work from CONTEXT
The Client: A building of temporality; it can be completely deconstructed.
The Architect's City - The core remains the only permanent element; the envelopes are the temporal aspect that can be changed and reinvented.
The Architect - A design in which the floor plates may be removed and changed, whereas the core relies on four parts. if one is removed, the core no longer stands up.

A set of five travertine stone walls to frame a view of Regent's Park, extending its history out into the urban fabric.

Experiments with terracing the units about the border of a landscape showed the gradually narrowing viewpoint the closer you get to the boundary of the park, so no view is interrupted by the architecture that lies in front.
