Vatican Economics-
The Vatican has been running budget deficit in recent years and this project propose a way to increase revenue for the Vatican by introducing a new typology of shopping in which religion goes completely commercial.
Instead of inserting more souvenir spots inside the St. Peter Basilica and the Vatican museum killing the space, the design propose to relocate the shopping from the Basilica and the museum to the border line of Rome/Vatican, situating the design at one of the leftover pockets near the border line in which their land ownership could arguably belong to both Rome and the Vatican.
The design elevate users to both the level of religion and shopping not only through the play of proportion and the lighting conditions of the structure, but also its cultural programme as a Catholic cuisine to enrich visitors’ experience.
