Biomass recycling station is set up within the context of still operational and overproducing Tate and Lyle Sugar Refinery in Silvertown. The aim of the project is to reduce the amount of raw sugar shipped to Silvertown to the edible one, in order to free the set of machines and spaces and redefine their fuctions by its by products.
Excess matter after cane harvest and processing (bagasse) as well as by-products of Silvertown refinery (molasses, condensates, filter-mud)are collected and recycled into landscape, energy, heat, set of raw materials and building components.
The value of sugar waste and functions of machines is re-examined and transformed into a vast ladscape of production and regeneration.
