The project Variable Space Frame aims to interweave two different housing conditions found in contemporary China; those of the VIC (Village in a City) and the gated tower block.
The hybridization of the current uses of space frames, those being a volumetric consideration and a spanning structure, allow the interweaving of public space and private housing.
Through the interweaving and stratification of these two urban networks interrelations and anti-relations are both allowed.
