Sited in the historic public space of Plaza de Las Tres Culturas, Mexico City, the project endeavours to address the issue of memory representations in the public sphere. Focusing on contrasting the conventional static manifestation of urban memory with the informal mediums of memory productions procured by the public in Mexico.
The commemorative culture in Mexico demonstrates the non-static and ephemeral notions underlying the discussion of memory. The project explores the role of architecture as a tool to generate a commemorative landscape based on the political massacre of 1968 in Mexico City.
