Inspired by Richard Brautigan’s poem “All Watched Over by Machines of Loving Grace’ (1967), in his work, 'Electric Dreams', Wesley Perrott envisages a lost arcadian world, a cyber-utopian existance of perpetual play. Based on the lost promises of freedom & liberation via the digital revolution through the eternal glory of the all encompassing network, the 'cybernetic meadow', we descend into a hedonistic world, well aware of the shadows of 'Blobs' and other 'architects in cyberspace', finding ourselves uneasily reminded that reality has become the antithesis of the dream.
